1. Name

The association will be called NVR South Parent Practitioners and will be affiliated to NVR UK.
( NVR stands for Non-Violent Resistance ).

2. Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the association will be;

  • To offer support, training and representation to parents, carers and professionals who are struggling with controlling and challenging behaviour from children and young adults out in the community. This will be in a range of settings including CAMHs, local councils, NHS and schools.
  • To promote effective strategies within the NVR programme in a professional manner.
  • To ensure a Duty of Care to all participants involved, in line with our Safeguarding Policy.
  • To provide services in a way that is fair to everyone.
  • To keep and adhere to the NVR UK accreditation standards.

3. Membership

Membership will consist of officers of the association and they will be deemed to accept these regulations. They will be as follows;

SECRETARY. Kerry Harnett
TREASURER. Michelle McCarthy

4. Finance

All monies will be banked in an account held in the name of the association and managed by the Treasurer. The financial year of the association will end on 1st September 2019. An audited statement of the Annual Accounts will be presented by the Treasurer at the next AGM. Any monies/cheques drawn against the association funds should hold one signature from one of the three officers as named in Section 3.

5. Annual General Meeting

Notice of the AGM will be given by the Secretary, not less than 21 clear days notice to all members. The Chair will receive a statement of audited accounts and a full report of management. The committee has the right to call an extraordinary general meeting ( EGM ) outside of the AGM and the procedures will be the same.

6. Discipline and Appeal

All complaints regarding the behaviour of a member should be submitted in writing to the Chair. The committee will meet to hear the complaint within 14 days of it being lodged. The committee has the power to take appropriate disciplinary action including the termination of office. The outcome of the disciplinary hearing should be notified in writing to the person who lodged the complaint and the member against who the complaint was made within 14 days of the hearing. There will be the right of appeal to the committee following disciplinary action being announced and the committee should consider the appeal within 14 days of the appeal being received.

7. Dissolution

A resolution to dissolve the association can only be passed at an AGM or EGM through a majority vote and any funds that remain will become the property of NVR UK.

8. Amendments to the Constitution.

The Constitution will only be changed through agreement by a majority vote at the AGM or EGM.

9. Declaration

NVR South Parent Practitioners hereby adopt and accept this Constitution as a current operating guide regulating the actions of members.
